(effect the Round House strategy to acquire and retention of historical concepts in the first class students average)
this study aims at :-
1- knowing the impact of round house strategy in acquiring the historical concepts for pirsl intermediate female students.
2- knowing the impact of round house strategy in retaining the historical concepts for pirsl intermediate female students.
To fulfil these aims , the researcher adopted partid control for equd groups experimental design . the researcher deliberately chose a first intermediate school (AL-Bonncnbj a for girls ) as a sample from the Directory of Education in Babil to conduct the experiment during the academic year( 2012_2013).
the sample consists of (71) students (41)as an experimented group that taught the round house strategy and (35) as a control group that taught the traditional way.
the researcher determined the last three chapters of the history of the ancient civilization book as a material for both groups .in the light of the content of the textbook the researcher determined (20) desired historical concepts for both groups .According to these (20) concepts the researcher prepared (60) behavioral objectives to measure the acquiation of the concepts (definition _distinction _applying).then the researcher prepared (14) roundhouse for the experimental group students covering the material of the determined historical concepts .moreover the researcher prepared (14)lesson plans for both groups.
to make sure of aims the researcher conducted an achievement test (a multiple-choice type) of for options to measure the students acquisition of the concepts .this test consisted of (60) items and its validity and reliability had been achieved.
after finishing the experiment and the test ,data had been collected and statistically treated (by using spss).after analyzing the statistical results ,the researcher concluded that there were statistically significant differences in the responses between the experimental group and that of the Control group on the benefit of the experiment avone . which means that the experimental group who utilized the round house strategy were better than those who use the traditional way in acquiring and retaining the historical concepts .
In the light of the results , the researcher recommended that the round House strategy should be adopted in teaching the material of history for the first intermediate level .
As well as she suggested conducting a similar study but in different materials and school levels .

The impact of the style of diagnostic assessment in the development of spelling skills and achievement when students of the second grade average
2013, Volume 3, Issue 10, Pages 108-138
This research aims to investigate the effect of the style of diagnostic assessment in the development of spelling skills and achievement when students of the second grade average, derived from the null hypothesis that reads "There is no statistically significant difference at the level (0.05) between the average score for students in the experimental group who are studying style diagnostic assessment , the average score for students in the control group who are studying the way the standard in the development of spelling skills , and achievement , according to the sex variable , and interaction "To aim of the research was chosen experimental design a set partial sets , and the chosen medium Algeria for Boys , and a secondary fulfillment for Girls , located in the center of the province of Diwaniyah wildly to apply experience them, and selected four people from the second row middle wildly also Almtosttin ( students , and students ) , and reached the research sample (92) students , divided between two groups of (48) students , and (44) a student for each division in the two groups experimental , and the control group).
The researcher conducted the parity between the two groups of students in search of the following variables : (chronological age , revealing spelling skills , and prior knowledge , mental ability , and language ability) .
After determining the scientific article contained some topics book Dictation scheduled to be taught to students in the second grade average, the researcher developed a behavioral objectives , and lesson plans , and to identify the skills of spelling , and achievement test final which consisted of (30) paragraph test , including spelling skills -type multiple-choice in light of the map test , has been characterized by honesty and consistency after the presentation to a group of experts and specialists , and extract him psychometric properties , and then layer on the students after the end of the experiment .
And used a researcher in the procedures discussed , and the analysis of results and statistical methods including: test samples t (T-test) for two independent samples , used it to make a parity between the two sets of search , and the Pearson correlation coefficient (Bearson), used it to calculate the reliability coefficient of the test in a way retail midterm , and the equation of Spearman - Brown , used it in the correct correlation coefficient between the two parts of the test (degrees of individual paragraphs , and marital) , and the equation of Cooper , he used to calculate the stability of a questionnaire spelling skills , and analysis of variance bilateral interaction , used it to analyze the results .
The results showed the superiority of the experimental group students on the students in the control group achievement spell , and also showed a difference in the average score for the collection of the two groups (experimental and control) variable according to sex (female) , as there is no reaction , according to the variables of the group and sex.
In light of the findings , the researcher recommended to follow the style of diagnostic assessment in the teaching of spelling ; because it ensures that the teacher preparation before the student explain the issue , and after teaching as well as in other materials , and suggested a similar study on the stages and in the other study the Arabic language other topics .

"The Role of Indeterminacy in the meaning of A Text in reference to Fish Reader-Response Theory: an analytical study"
2013, Volume 3, Issue 10, Pages 195-206
This study tries to define mainly the concept "indeterminacy" from Stanley Fish point of views included in his theory called "reader-response". The indeterminacy in language and literature simply means non-fixed meaning of a text. However, such termshould not be interpreted as there is no meaning at all but the meaning is there in the reader who is a member of an interpretive community. Indeterminacy is explained
in reader-response theory which is a part of reader-response criticism, a school of criticism that focuses on the reader (or "audience") and his or her knowledge to obtain a meaning out of a literary work, in opposite to other traditional schools and theories that focus attention primarily on the author or the content and form of the work while
the reader's role in re-creating literary work is ignored. The work of Fish can be divided into two kinds: one is phenomenological approach to reading which characterizes much of Fish's earlier work, and the other is an epistemological theory characteristic of Fish's later work. This research includes the essay entitled" Is There a Text in This Class?" because it contains the views of Fish regarding indeterminacy in his theory specially his later views.
This theory emphasizes the role of the reader who produces "real existence” to the work and completes its meaning through interpretation and not the text in itself. According to aforementioned theory and Fish the text is provided with meaning by a set of cultural assumptions, which often include authorial intent, though it is not limited to it. Moreover, as readers we interpret texts because we are part of an interpretive community that gives us a particular way of reading a text and finding its meaning. Then Fish claims that any attempt to discover the intent of the author is impossible as for Fish the author's intention is a creation of the reader who exclusively has such authority to determine upon the meaning of a text and the message of its author. There are schools just like formalism and new criticism have complete different views in opposition to the views of Fish. Such schools announced that the meaning of a text was embedded in the textual artifact or, as Wimsatt and Beardsley referred to it, "the object".

According to the famous Faustbuck, published in Frankfort by Johann Spies in 1587, the Doctorate of Divinity that the German scholar Faust holds does not satisfy his insatiable thirst “to know the secrets of heaven and earth;” therefore, he, using magic, has recourse to the Devil and strikes a written-and-signed-with-blood bargain with him according to which the Devil has Faust’s high aspirations and desires accomplished. But Faust must hand his soul over to the Devil when the term of the bargain expires. It can be said that the Faustian bargain launches from this Lutheran book to be one of the most aspiring legends in European culture. To say nothing of the cinematic and musical works it inspires, many writers have adopted the Faust legend in their literary products. They have done some amendments to the original story in agreement with their genres, opinions, and times. Charles Robert Maturin (1782–1824) manages to tame the motif of the Faustian bargain, which is encircled by legendary and superstitious anecdotes, in his masterpiece Melmoth the Wanderer. He comes up with a new change in the traditional story of Faust to achieve certain aims of his own.
This paper is a part of an M.A. thesis entitled “Faustian Bargain in Irish Fiction: A Study in Charles Robert Maturin’s Melmoth the Wanderer and Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray” prepared at the University of Al-Qadisiya, College of Education, Department of English.
